Why I’m Running for a 2nd Term
A Town Built on Belonging
Qualification
Victor is at a crossroads. We can grow in a way that honors our roots—or lose what makes this place special. I’m running to make sure Victor stays livable, grounded, and wild in the best sense of the word. That means putting people and place before profit, protecting the character of our town, and keeping Victor accessible for those who live and work here every day.
1. Affordability for Those Who Live and Work Here
Housing and basic services should be within reach for our workforce, families, and elders. I'll work to:
Protect and incentivise long-term housing stock; mitigate short-term rentals that don’t benefit local owners
Support workforce housing initiatives and land trusts
Keep property taxes fair and predictable
2. A Local Economy That Works for Locals
Let’s prioritize community-driven businesses and jobs that support year-round residents:
Support small businesses and local trades
Grow regenerative food systems and rural jobs
Promote tourism that benefits everyone, not just a few
3. Protect What Makes Victor, Victor
We don’t want to become Jackson or Park City. Let’s:
Preserve wildlife corridors and open space
Uphold the integrity of our historic downtown and neighborhoods
Keep our rural culture alive
4. Quality of Life Rooted in Connection
Quality of life means more than metrics. It’s about:
Clean air, dark skies, and quiet nights
Walkable neighborhoods and accessible trails
Community spaces where everyone feels welcome
Victor isn’t just a destination. It’s a living community where belonging doesn’t depend on how long you’ve been here, what you earn, or who you know. Whether you arrived last year or generations ago—if you love this place and care for it, you belong here.
